Carmen S. (Ramirez) Collazo, age 71, passed away March 23, 2024 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. Carmen was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico daughter of Manuel Jesus Ramirez Sr. and Margarita Torrez Ramirez. At a young age Carmen moved to Brooklyn NY with her family. Carmen was employed by Chase Manhattan Bank until the late 1980’s when she and her family moved to Holyoke. Carmen had a career as a case worker for various non-profit organizations in the area until her retirement. Carmen was predeceased by her parents Manuel and Margarita; her brother: Manuel Jesus Ramirez, Jr; her son in law Carlos L. Rodriguez Jr. She is survived by her husband, Samuel Collazo; four daughters: Magaly Collazo, Ivette Collazo Rodriguez, Monica Collazo and Catherine Rentas; five grandchildren: Nathaniel Rodriguez, Michaela Rodriguez, Adam Rentas, Jr., Benjamin Martinez, and Frankie Cardona, Jr.; her sisters: Maritza Ramirez, Margarita Ferrer, Marylou Perez and Janet Ramirez; her brother Daniel Ramirez and many nieces and nephews; a son in law Adam Rentas, and a family friend she considered a son, Frankie Cardona and his wife Leslye Storey. All services are private and at the convenience of the family.
