Madelene C. (Gill) Violette

Madelene Violette, 85, of Chicopee, formerly of Holyoke, MA, died Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at her home with family members by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Michael D. Violette. Mrs. Violette was born June 3, 1938, in Holyoke, Mass., daughter of the late Edward and Edith (Mitton) Gill. She was a loving mother of her two sons Kyle (Agawam, MA) and Michael (Agawam, MA). She leaves behind her twin sister Marlene Kruczek (Guilford, CT), her brother Edward Gill (Vernon, CT), and her nine nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much. She was predeceased by a sister Edythe Rinaldi. Madelene was employed in the accounting offices of the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) for 30 years. Madelene was a true pet lover, always willing to take in a cat or dog who needed a home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101. Services will be held privately by her family. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home of Holyoke, Mass. (413-536-3843).
